Amazon KindleKindle is a hardware device first released in the United States byAmazon.com November 19,2007 that displays images and text using E ink and is capable of getting e-books over the Amazon Whispernet using Sprint's EVDO. Using this device users have access to hundred of thousands of books from amazon.com at lower costs per book, can subscribe to magazines, get news paper subscriptions, get RSS feeds from popular sites, and even connect to the Internet with a basic browser.
What makes the kindle unique when compared to a computer is the technology behind displaying the text. The text is crisp and clear and comparable to reading text in a book, in addition since it's not constantly refreshed this allows for the battery life to be much longer than a laptop. Finally, the kindle is extremely light and easy to hold, and can connect to Amazon's Whispernet to buy books without the need of a computer or Internet access. This is a great tool for anyone who enjoys reading.
On July 19, 2010 Amazon announced it was now selling more Kindle books than hardcover books.
The Kindle Fire is a portable tablet which a more robust version of the regular Kindle e-book reader from Amazon.com. In addition to reading e-books, the Kindle can play music movies, games, surf the web, and run other applications. For web surfing, the device uses a browser named Amazon Silk.
The Kindle Fire allows you to store Amazon content for the device on their cloud servers. It runs on a version of the Android operating system from Google, and was released for sale on November 15, 2011.
